If you are a frequent flier, you may be familiar with this term.
So, a lot of airlines have a package called ‘hold the price’.
When you are trying to book a flight and the price looks good, but you are a bit skeptical about booking right away because you are hopeful that you may get a cheaper ticket price in a few hours or days.
They allow you to hold that one you currently have by paying a little token so that the price can be retained for you for a short period of time.
If you are lucky to get a cheaper price elsewhere, you forfeit the held fare and if you don’t, you go ahead to book the one you have held.
So this little narration is the reality of so many relationships.
Many are with people they wouldn’t really consider as their choice but out of the notion that “half loaf is better than none”, they would hold on tightly to that one while in full search of their full loaf!
The person you are with isn’t your best choice but you are holding that one with one hand while you use the other to scout for better options.
You are a guy expressing love to a lady morning, noon and night, yet you are in the inbox of 3 other ladies. You think you are smart!
You are a lady giving a guy the impression that you are with him, knowing fully well that you still have your eyes on options B to Z, giving a green light to as many as it may concern.
It’s okay if you are not sure about being with a particular person yet, but don’t give them your word and then go ahead to continue your ‘single and searching’ mode behind.
Commitment is not a spirit that falls upon you the day you say ‘I do’. Its a deliberate action that starts from the moment you decide to be with someone.
This is not in any way saying you have to be stuck in a relationship that’s no longer serving its purpose, however, if need be to quit, integrity says quit and then move on.
Don’t play games with other people’s emotions regardless. It’s not about them, but about you! It speaks of your values!
There is no need to rush, take your time, allow God instruct your heart and make up your mind. Don’t play games.
