ALMOST HOME
I was going to write about apologies, but I suddenly remembered this incident yesterday and decided to share.
Some years back while I was living with my lovely aunty, we were all asleep in the middle of the night when we heard a loud bang, it sounded so close and scary. We knew it had to do with our own house.
We initially thought some people were trying to find their way into the compound. My uncle summoned courage and had to go check what exactly was going on.
On getting there, he discovered it was an accident. A young man who spent the night visiting his ill parent at the hospital was on his way home. His house was a few blocks away from ours. On entering the street, he was feeling excited and relaxed knowing that he would be resting in his bed in a few minutes after a very long day.
With that brief thought and within a twinkle of an eye, he dozed off and the next thing he heard was a loud bang. You guessed right, his car crashed into our gate.
I’ll stop my story here to say this;
Dear intending couples and about to wed, I know it’s been a long time coming. Several months or even years of dating no be beans. Please stay awake! Yes, the wedding date has been fixed, and by God’s grace, nothing can shift it!
Maintain the purity with which you have journeyed through your courtship. Believe me when I say the devil is still actively looking for how to soil your testimony, please don’t let him.
A little kiss, a deeper and longer hug, and extended discussions in secluded places may mean nothing to you, after all in just a few weeks you will be together forever. But like a crack in the wall, it can give room for expansion and then finally, collapse.
Stay guarded! Stay awake! You are almost home.
May the Lord strengthen you and give you the grace to finish strong. Amen
