LIVING A LIFE OF DEEP SECRECY – Episode 3

Against hajiya Hauwa’s orders, Justina gave her consent to be operated upon and the doctor and nurses left to make the theatre ready. There had been power outage in the area for days and the hospital which had been running on generator ran out of petrol. With the biting petrol scarcity in Abuja, all operations were put on hold pending when the hospital will be supplied petrol. While Justina was waiting, her mind went to how it all started back then in her village before she ran away and came to the city.

It was on a bright Wednesday afternoon in her village where she lived with her parents and siblings. Justina walked out of Achema’s room with her shoulders high, she felt like a complete woman, because she had just been introduced into the world of sex by her boyfriend of two years. She was 19 and had just finished her secondary school. Achema her boyfriend of two years is a carpenter who did his best to provide for her from the scarce resources available to him. Justina who is from a family of seven looked forward to the day when she will leave the village to cater for her aged parents and young ones. She saw her relationship with Achema as an avenue for her to learn how to relate with men when she goes to the city. On the morning of that day, she had made up her mind to have sex with Achema and try out what it felt like. Several times in class, she had overheard her friends talking about having sex with their boyfriends and they had laughed hard at her when she told them that she was still a virgin. There and then she made up her mind on what to do. She stopped a bike and paid him to take her to Achema’s house. Achema was in his one room apartment when she stormed in. She had formed the habit of barging in on him without calling, a trick she had learnt from her friends who told her that was the best way for her to find out if her boyfriend was cheating on her. Achema rose up and hugged her when he saw her.

Achema: “My woman, I wasn’t expecting you by this time. How are you?”

Justina: “What do you mean by that? Are you saying I need an invitation before I can visit my man?”

Achema: “That is not what I mean. What I am saying is; what if you come here and I am not around?”

Justina: “And so what if you are not at home? Have you forgotten that I have the spare key to this house? Besides, where you get to go wey I no go meet you for house? Abeg, shift go buy me coke make I take quench my thirst”.

Achema: “Yes your highness”. He picked his wallet and dashed out after excusing his friend. He came back with a chilled bottle of coke and Digestive biscuits and gave it to her. She began to eat it slowly as she calculated her next move. She was expecting Achema’s friend to leave them alone but he was obviously carried away with the political discussion they were having before she came in. When she finished her drink, she called Achema outside.

Justina: “Tell your friend to excuse us. I need some time alone with you”.

Achema: “You can’t be serious, he just came in here shortly before you came. I can’t tell him to leave now”.

Justina: “I am your girlfriend and I demand that he leaves now!”

Achema: “Okay, fine. I know what to tell him”.

Justina: “Better!” she walked ahead of him, swaying her enormous buttocks.

Few minutes later, Achema whispered something into his friend’s ear, they both go out and Achema returns alone.

Achema: “He is gone. What is it that was so urgent you had to make me send my friend away?”

Justina got up, locked the door and pulled off her Ankara top, revealing her big boobs. “Make love to me”, she said as she grabbed his hands and dips it in to her bra. He felt the invitingly warm feeling of her breast and draws away.

Achema: “No, we can’t do this. What has come over you, Justina. Are you high on something?”

Justina, desperate to make him do it removes her trousers, revealing her pink lingerie. She walked seductively to him and grabbed his hand like she did before and pushed it in to her pants. He snatched his hand away when he felt the moisture in her pant. “Can’t you see that I am wet? That makes it easier I was told. Make me a woman”.

Achema: “No, I can’t do this. Yes, I love you so much but that is not enough reason for me to defile you. I have promised myself that I will marry you a virgin and intend to keep to that promise”.

Justina: “What is that thing that you are saying? Is it not me that is saying you should do it?”

Achema: “Well, you are the one saying it but I don’t know what has come over you. You know it is a sin, why do you want me to do it?”

Justina: “God will forgive us, let’s just do it this once”.

Achema: “No, God doesn’t operate that way. Shall we continue to abide in sin so that grace may abound? It is a mortal sin to deliberately drag God’s forgiving nature to the mud. And…”

She drew near and silenced him with a kiss. Even though they had never had sex in their relationship, there were used to kissing and smooching and all sorts of romance. The kiss which lasted for more than two minutes got him as she noticed him relax and respond by kissing her back. Gradually, she grabbed his hands and guided it to her breast which he began to fondle on reflex. She sliped her arms into his trousers and felt him hard in between his legs. Like the professional that she was hoping to be, she got on her knees and unzipped his trousers.

After making love for the first time with Achema, she became very wild and her appetite for sex was kindled. She would always sneak to his house anytime her mother was in the market and insists that he sleeps with her. Her father who was a farmer was finding it very difficult to feed his family considering the bad weather that had affected agricultural produce and the biting recession. As the first daughter of the family, Justina took it upon herself to help her father by using what she has to get what she wants.

Two weeks to the Christmas celebrations, her father had quarreled with his wife because he had not given her any money to buy new clothes for the children. That day, Justina had cooked the half tuber of yam that was remaining and they had all managed it not knowing where the next meal will come from. Determined to provide for her parents, she began to dress and attend social gatherings in the village with the aim of hooking a rich man. To kick start her plans properly, she went to the nearby pharmacist and bought a packet of Gold Circle condom. Armed with this, she decided to visit her friend whose brother, Nonso she learnt had just returned from the United States for the Christmas break.

She dressed in a tight fitting swede jumpsuit, applied her makeup including her favorite tomatoes red lipstick and went to her friend’s house. She met her friend and her brother in the sitting room watching ‘The Headies Award’.

Jennifer: “Hey, Justina you are welcome to our house. You know, I didn’t know you would come again tonight considering the fact that you may be watching this Headies awards”.

Justina: “Jen, you never cease to amaze me. Where did we see money to subscribe and watch any awards? You forgot that it is only free to air channels that we watch in our house? Or are you just being sarcastic?”

Jennifer: “I am sorry. I thought all channels will be showing the awards. Biko forgive me. Anyway, meet my brother, the one I told you studies in the States. His name is Nonso. Bro, meet my friend Justina”.

The two exchange handshake while Justina tried to establish eye contact with him.

Nonso: “So, Justina, tell me about yourself”.

Justina: “What do you want to know about me? “

Nonso: “Anything, I mean everything. I have heard a lot about you from my sister, so I wanna hear from the horse’s mouth. So, go ahead, I’m all ears “.

Justina: “Ah, Jennifer! So you have been gossiping me with your brother? Diaris God for you. Anyway, brother Nonso, first of all, I am not a horse, so you can’t hear it from the horse’ mouth”.

Nonso: “Hahaha, common, I must confess that you have a good sense of humor. Of course I know that you are not a horse, it’s just a saying “.

Justina got up abruptly. “I have to go. It’s almost 9pm and I don’t want my father’s trouble tonight “.

Nonso: “So soon? I thought you would spend some more time with us, I really do want to hear you tell me about yourself”.

Jennifer: “Brother, don’t worry. She is my friend; I know how to arrange a meeting between you two. Just buy a new phone for me and all is settled”.

Justina: “Jennifer! Business woman. Hian! “

Nonso: “Okay, you win. You are getting a new phone of your choice tomorrow. Just do what you are supposed to do.”

Two days later, Justina went on a date with Nonso in Slayers Joint where she ordered a plate of cat fish pepper soup and a chilled can of Orijin. Nonso settled for a bottle of Heineken beer.
