THERE IS NO IN BETWEEN

It’s the summer holiday season and you know what that means! Lots of shouting and scattering especially when you’re a toddler mum like me!
On Monday, I was with the girls downstairs and I turned on the tv to watch the ongoing RCCG convention on YouTube! I suddenly remembered I needed to have my journal by my side to pen down knowledge gained and words sent out! I ran upstairs and was back in no time!
Tell me why I met my almost 2 year old daughter covered with marker ‘tattoo’ 😩😩😩 She had used a marker from her sister’s stationary purse to write all over herself.
My first instinct (after screaming in disbelief) was to ask her sister why she didn’t keep her stationary purse from her or collect the marker from her. In her defence, she was engrossed with her colouring activity and couldn’t be bothered by her baby sister getting the marker or showing her artistic skills on her own body.
As I ruminated on this occurrence later in the evening, I somehow related it to marriage and I realized that love requires taking a stand! You can’t turn your eyes away from what affects your loved ones directly or indirectly!
You can’t keep silent when they are badmouthing your spouse or even be in that company!
You can’t watch people be mean to someone you love and close your eyes to it!
You can’t pretend not to see when extended family members dishonour your spouse!
You can’t laugh at jokes that are demeaning to your spouse! They shouldn’t even have the audacity to make such jokes in your presence!
You can’t watch your spouse struggle through meeting up with financial demands, house chores, career/ministerial responsibilities or other pressing tasks and turn a blind eye!
Being ‘one flesh’ is no joke! When they are wrong, there are acceptable ways to go about it! According to 1st Corinthians 13:6; Love truly doesn’t delight in evil, but just the next verse says Love protects!
You can’t be indifferent! There is no in between, you have to take a stand and the world needs to know where you stand!
Luke 11:23: Anyone who is not with me is against me, and anyone who does not gather with me scatters.
Think about it!
