📱 The Beginning Was Sweet

At first…

distance didn’t feel like distance.

Every morning, Amara woke up to messages.

🗣 John (text):
“Good morning, my love ❤️ Did you sleep well?”

And every night…

her phone would light up again.

🗣 John:
“I miss you… I wish you were here.”

They called constantly.

Video calls filled with laughter.

They shared everything—

What they ate.

Where they went.

Who annoyed them.

Even silence felt comfortable.

🌍 The ocean between them didn’t seem so wide.

💭 Amara’s Heart

She would smile alone sometimes.

Holding her phone close.

Whispering softly—

🗣 Amara:
“He’s really coming back for me…”

For a moment…

it felt like love had won.

🌆 But Reality Was Waiting

Life abroad was not what John imagined.

The job was demanding.

Very demanding.

Long hours.

Endless meetings.

Tight deadlines.

Pressure from every direction.

At first, he tried to balance everything.

Love and work.

But slowly…

something began to shift.

📉 The Calls Began to Change

The calls became shorter.

🗣 John:
“I’m a bit busy today… I’ll call you later.”

Later sometimes never came.

The messages reduced.

From long paragraphs…

to short replies.

From short replies…

to silence.

One day passed.

Then three.

Then a whole week.

📱 Amara Waiting

Amara sat on her bed.

Phone in hand.

Screen on.

No message.

She checked again.

And again.

And again.

🗣 Amara (whispering):
“Maybe he’s just busy…”

But her voice lacked conviction.

😔 The Silence Grew

Another week passed.

No call.

No explanation.

No reassurance.

Just silence.

Heavy.

Loud.

Painful silence.

🤒 The Weakness

Around that same time…

Amara began to feel different.

Her body felt weak.

Her energy dropped.

She could barely eat.

Food lost its taste.

Her strength faded slowly.

🌡️ She assumed it was stress.

Or maybe malaria.

Or the emotional weight of missing John.

🗣 Amara:
“I just need rest…”

She took medication.

She waited.

But nothing changed.

⏳ Time Passed Quietly

Then something else happened.

Her monthly cycle didn’t come.

At first…

she ignored it.

🗣 Amara:
“It’s probably the drugs…”

Or stress.

Or sickness.

Anything but what her heart was beginning to suspect.

Days turned into weeks.

And deep inside her…

fear began to whisper.

⚡ The Morning of Truth

One quiet morning…

everything changed.

The realization hit her suddenly.

Like lightning.

Like thunder.

Clear.

Undeniable.

Terrifying.

She sat on the edge of her bed.

Frozen.

Her hands trembling.

Her heart racing uncontrollably.

🗣 Amara (voice shaking):
“No… no… no…”

Tears filled her eyes.

🗣 Amara:
“This can’t be happening…”

But deep down…

she already knew.

💔 The Reality

She was pregnant.

The room felt smaller.

The air felt heavier.

Her thoughts became louder.

🗣 Amara (crying softly):
“John… what do I do now?”

She grabbed her phone immediately.

Dialed his number.

Once.

Twice.

Again.

And again.

📵 Call failed.

She tried messaging.

No reply.

📵 Message not delivered.

Her hands began to shake even more.

🗣 Amara:
“Please pick up… please…”

But the silence remained.

Cold.

Unmoved.

Unforgiving.

🌑 The Shadow Deepens

In that moment…

Amara realized something terrifying.

She was no longer just waiting.

She was alone.

The decision made on one emotional night…

had now taken shape.

And the shadow of that moment…

was no longer invisible.

📖 Scripture Reflection – Episode 6

“A reckless man’s words pierce like a sword.”
— Book of Proverbs 12:18

Sometimes…

it is not distance that breaks people.

It is silence.
