MASTER KEY FOR RELATIONSHIPS & MARRIAGE
Hello my blessed and amazing friends, here I am signing in for #relationtipwednesday for the year 2023 in grand style and with so much excitement.
It’s a beautiful new month as well, my second best month of the year๐ May the favour of the Lord encompass you and yours like a shield this month๐
This year, beyond sharing my thoughts, experiences, and principles with you, I look forward to hearing your views and opinions on different issues we will discuss as well. Thank you for staying with meโค๏ธ
Just like my Lord Jesus started with prayer, I would also love to start our #relationtipwednesday with this master key as well๐
Some days back as we sat on the couch gisting away about years back, King D and I recounted so many experiences from our courtship days. I reminded him of his teaching job that was barely enough to feed him after putting money aside to pay his university school fees, the long hours of trekking from LASU part-time campus to the estate because transport fare wasn’t in the picture. And right there we became overwhelmed by the realities of God’s goodness!
We are certainly not there yet but I’m confident we are living in the midst of some answered prayers to the glory of God.
While at it, the Holy Spirit reminded me of our Friday routines all through our courtship days and even into marriage.
Whether miles apart or in close proximity, every Friday we fasted and prayed. We prayed like our lives depended on it because it actually does. We prayed for our hearts, future, ministry, the godly family we desire to raise, our children, every decision leading us to the greatness God has prepared for us.
We prayed for open doors, favor and elevation. We asked God for increase, men like angels and many more things time won’t permit me to write.
Some prayers were answered immediately, some took months and even years.
But with great assurance, I want to tell you today to never underestimate the power of praying together as lovers (in courtship or marriage). It was no joke when God expressly mentioned that if two of you shall agree touching a thing, then it shall be done unto you.
Hmmn, there are some challenges that you will encounter as a couple, you will shut the door behind you and hold your hands together tightly bringing God to remembrance of His word and then agree that it is settled right there and then.
I know you have prayer partners and prayer champions praying day and night, it’s very good but do not neglect the joining of hands and hearts in prayer between you and your spouse. There is a speed of answers that comes with a prayer of agreement from two hearts intertwined in love. God honours it.
I know we encourage you to eat together, bath together, go on dates and so on. Let’s take it further this year, Pray together as One, go on prayer retreats just the two of you. When the children are in bed, Saturate your home in tongues holding hands, get lost in worship and watch God take over your affairs.
There is a place of congregational prayer, prayer partners and family altar, but you see none of these should take the place of your couples altar.
Whether long-distance or not, agree together in prayers as One before the Lord. May your prayers receive answers this year in Jesus name. Amen.
So tell me, how have you been? I hope you have been good? Have a blessed month.
