I just returned from the university after the 200-level session was over.
I gathered all the courage I could get and told my mum about my relationship with King D.
She was scared, I could tell. She was wondering why I was facing man rather than facing my studies, especially after all her struggles to make sure we all went to school and become graduates after dad’s demise.
I was unhappy to see her disappointed and worried. Even though I was in love, I knew her worry was out of love.
King D and I stayed on a lowkey
and every Friday, we fasted and prayed asking God to touch the hearts of all those whose consent we needed to have a beautiful love life and marriage.
We also made sure our relationship was never a distraction but a propelling force to success.
God did it!
Love is indeed a strong force, however, how well it thrives can be determined by it’s environment.
Environment, they say, is greater than seed.
When two lovers are surrounded by supportive families and loved ones, the relationship has a higher potential of succeeding (not saying if otherwise it won’t succeed, but the stakes are higher)
To the lovers in the center of God’s will facing challenges with parental consent. Please, do not resort to rebellion. God is able to turn the heart of any man. Give it time, seek counsel and apply wisdom.
Reach out to some wise elders that can speak to your parents on your behalf.
Don’t keep grudges and keep being a good child to your parents, regardless.
Allow the Holy Spirit to instruct your heart on the way to go, because as much as you may not like it, God may be using your parents to save you from a future disaster. It will end in praise.
Today is my mum’s birthday and I can’t thank God enough for her life. For all of God’s amazing blessings in her life. She’s a gift to us all, a priceless one. We are so thankful for her sacrifices and love. I thank her specially for loving my husband as a son of hers and caring so much for him.
Please celebrate her with me and ask God to keep my mum in perfect peace and give her all round joy. Thank you and God bless you.
